Test Results

Please do not 'clog up' the lines at 8am, our busiest time, to ask for test results, please help us ensure we give the best service to our patients.

How do I get the result of my blood test, urine test etc from the Surgery?

test_results9Your GP/Practice nurse will inform you when taking a test how you should obtain your results.  If they don't please ask them! They should ask you to phone the Surgery after 11am to obtain your result.

Most results will be back with the Surgery within a few days.  In some instances the GP may ask that you make an appointment to see them to discuss your results, or on some occassions this can be done on the telephone.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.

Permission to discuss patient details with a relative, next of kin or carer should be sent in writing to the Surgery. The patient requesting should ensure the permission letter is signed. All details will be logged on the patient journal.

TO ENSURE YOUR SAFETY PLEASE ASK US FOR YOUR RESULTS. DO NOT ASSUME THEY ARE NORMAL JUST BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT CONTACTED YOU.
