Prescriptions
Repeat Prescriptions
You can now order your repeat prescription online.
If your long-term medication has been approved on a repeat prescription basis you can order in one of the following ways:
- Online through our online services or form.
- In person – drop your repeat slip in the boxes provided at both surgeries with the required items clearly marked.
- By post – send it to us enclosing a stamped addressed envelope if you want it posted back to you.
- By Email – send it to us via ambroseavenue.postmaster@nhs.net
Please note, to avoid errors requests will not be taken over the telephone and it takes up to 5 working days for prescription requests to be processed. Please allow an extra couple of days for medication to be ready at your nominated pharmacy.
Electronic Prescribing
We are upgrading to the next phase of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) which will mean that almost all our prescriptions will be processed electronically from 30.03.2020
Electronic prescriptions help save the NHS money.
You will receive your prescriptions in the same way as you do now. To register for this service, please complete our online form.
Read more about EPS on the NHS website.
Prescription Charges and Exemptions
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).
The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
You can find out more about prescription charges on the NHS Website.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to complete a medication review at least once a year to review these regular medications. You can request a medication review if you feel that you are due one.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions. You may not always need to come to surgery for your review, your request could be dealt with by telephone.
Pharmacy
We now have an in house Pharmacy for all prescription, medication and minor illness requests.
Having a choice to pick up your prescription from the in house Pharmacy is just one more service offered to all our patients in the hope that your experience with the Surgery is a valued, efficient and caring one.
We offer the choice to all our patients but ultimately the choice is yours as to where you go to get your prescription needs.
We care about our patient’s needs and realise having everything on one site helps with the ease of your visit to the Surgery.
The Pharmacy staff are very helpful and should you any any enquiries please do not hesitate to contact them on 01206 615669..
