Booking an Appointment

To make an appointment visit our consulting room.

Appointments will be offered between 08:40 and 18:20 Monday – Friday.

We operate a Duty Team Triage system at Ambrose Avenue Group Practice until 18:30 Monday to Friday where urgent cases are dealt with on the day via telephone or appointment. A member of the team will initially contact you by telephone and book you an appointment.

Please note our telephone lines are closed between 12:30 and 13:30.

Open Access

Our Open Access clinics run Monday – Friday at our Tollgate branch, where patients can attend the surgery to queue for an appointment to be seen that morning. This will commence from 09:00 however we are checking patients in from 08:00 to limit the queuing time outside the surgery. Please note patients will not be seen until the appointments begin at 09:00. Where possible we offer a minimum of 28 appointments per day and each appointment is one problem only.

We offer priority seating for anyone that may require it in the building foyer and within the surgery. If you have any problems on the day please speak with a member of our reception staff who will be happy to help.

Nurse Appointments

The Nurse Practitioner will see minor illnesses between 08:30 and 18:00 Monday – Friday.

You may pre-book appointments up to four weeks in advance to see a doctor for the morning or afternoon sessions as available.  We will have some appointments which can be booked on the day. Nurses and healthcare assistants will have pre-bookable appointments.

Cancelling an Appointment

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else, you can cancel an appointment using our online form or reply to your reminder via Mjog.
